MDS precursor conditions

MDS precursor conditions

The thorough understanding of clonal hematopoiesis has led to the identification of MDS precursor states, which could help diagnose and adequately monitor patients earlier due to their higher risk of progression to MDS. New subgroups have been defined, i.e., idiopathic cytopenia of undetermined significance (ICUS), clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP), and clonal cytopenia of undetermined significance (CCUS).
