Hypomethylating agents

Hypomethylating agents inhibit enzymes responsible for DNA methylation, called DNA methyltransferases, which regulate gene expression. DNA methylation may lead to tumor suppressor gene silencing and is considered as one of the mechanisms which can be targeted by hypomethylating agents to reduce tumor growth.
