Antibody therapy

Monoclonal antibodies target antigens expressed predominantly by leukemic cells, making them more selective than chemotherapy. Antibodies induce an immune response to destroy cancer cells or block key extracellular sites such as receptors to cause cancer cell death. Some promising targets for antibody-based therapy in MDS are CD33, CD45, CD47, and CD123.
